Cookie Policy

How Nextassethub uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them.

Last updated: 1 June 2026

1. About Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device — computer, tablet or phone — when you visit. Cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage, allow a site to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences, so the site can behave consistently and reliably the next time you return. Cookies are widely used across the web to make sites work, to keep them secure and to help operators understand how their pages are used.

This Cookie Policy explains how Nextassethub uses these technologies on nextassethub.com (the "Site"), what each one does, how long it lasts, and the choices available to you. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

It helps to understand a few distinctions. Session cookies are temporary and are erased when you close your browser, while persistent cookies (and persistent local-storage items) remain on your device until they expire or you delete them. First-party items are set by Nextassethub directly, whereas third-party items are set by another domain — for example, when you follow an affiliate link to a provider's website. Nextassethub relies almost entirely on first-party, strictly necessary storage and keeps third-party technologies on our own pages to a minimum.

2. Technologies We Use

Nextassethub takes a deliberately minimal approach. We do not run advertising networks or behavioural ad-tracking pixels on the Site. The table below summarises the storage items we use:

Name Type Purpose Duration
cookie_consent Strictly necessary Remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies so the banner does not reappear on every visit. Persistent (local storage)
Session / security Strictly necessary Supports basic page delivery, form submission and protection against abuse. Session

3. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are essential for the Site to function and cannot be switched off through our banner. The cookie_consent item records your choice from the cookie banner so we can respect it on future visits; without it, you would be asked to choose again on every page. Other necessary items support secure delivery of pages and the safe handling of contact-form and newsletter submissions. Because these are essential, they operate on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure website.

4. Analytics and Performance

We may use limited, privacy-respecting measurement to understand, in aggregate, which comparison tables, regional guides and articles readers find most useful, so we can improve the Site. We currently do not deploy third-party analytic profiling cookies on the Site. If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.

5. Marketing Cookies

Nextassethub does not use marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not sell your data to advertisers. Our weekly market-alert newsletter is delivered by email to subscribers who have opted in; it does not rely on advertising cookies placed through the Site. Note that when you click an affiliate "View provider" link and leave our Site, the destination Provider may set its own cookies, which are governed by that Provider's policies, not ours.

6. Managing Your Cookies

You have several ways to control cookies:

  • Our banner. Use the "Accept" or "Decline" buttons on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. To reset your choice, clear your browser's local storage for this Site and reload the page.
  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.

Most browsers also let you block all cookies, delete existing cookies, or open a private browsing window that discards storage when you close it. Some browsers and devices additionally offer a "Do Not Track" signal or a Global Privacy Control setting; where such signals become an established standard that we are required to honour, we will respect them. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the Site to stop working correctly, including remembering your cookie preference, which would cause the consent banner to reappear on each visit.

7. Legal Basis

We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website for strictly necessary cookies. For any analytics or non-essential technologies we may introduce, we will rely on your consent, consistent with PIPEDA and applicable Canadian guidance from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. More detail on how we handle personal information is available in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, the Site or the law. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
